I’m Sam, a local family and wedding photographer based here in the beautiful Cromwell, Central Otago.
I moved here in early 2022 from Bundaberg Australia, where I was living and teaching Visual Art over two crazy pandemic years.
Since moving back, I continued my teaching career in the area while building my managery of pets on a local cherry orchard my partner Linden and I call home. Managery of pets you ask?
Two cheeky goats, a few chooks and sheep, two sassy cats, an energetic pooch… and a baby deer!
My goal is to have a miniture highland cattle or two join us at the Mathstone zoo in the next few years, but don’t tell Linden that!
At the end of 2024, I made the choice to leave the education system and forego a consistent income to make my life long dream come true of being a full time photographer and getting that spine tingling warmth when I leave my clients with a gallery of photographs that not only I love, but they love too.
Tis now 2025, and as you may be able to tell from the photographs you have seen so far - it is not my first time behind the camera.
I studied digital photography and excelled in visual arts before going into primary teaching. During this time, I have photographed weddings, family portaits and followed around a local newspaper photographer - so as you can tell, I’m a passionate creative with a loooong held love for storytelling through the lens!
My style is about warmth, natural light and capturing authentic tender, teasing and belly laughing moments.
I am here to be your guide, clothing corrector, hair moverer, grass squisherer, self confidence boosterer and photographer.
I can’t wait to meet you!
